Bavaria or Scotland? Well, it’s Scotland – no doubt about it. I moved to Grantown on Spey in 2012, born and bred in Bavaria (actually in Franken, Pleinfeld if you know that place?). It wasn’t easy to leave my loved ones behind, but it was worth the tears. Scotland is my dream country – nature, wildlife, very nice and friendly people, relaxing lifestyle and a good place to work: The Grant Arms Hotel in Grantown on Spey – specialized in Bird Watching and Wildlife, located in the Cairngorms National Park, not far from the famous Salmon River Spey. The North Sea is 45 minute drive away – lovely sandy beaches as you can find them in the Caribbean (unfortunately, temperatures are not as high!), the mountains are 45 minutes away with high quality ski runs and outstanding scenery.
There is wildlife I had never heard of before, but as I have been working as Accommodation Manager at the Grant Arms Hotel ever since, I learnt about the variety but also the grade of endanger of our native wildlife very quickly. Grantown on Spey is the ideal location to explore the outstanding wildlife and to enjoy the stunning scenery. The Grant Arms Hotel is not only the best work place I have ever had, but it’s also the perfect location for a relaxing but also active holiday in the Scottish Highlands. Customer service, high quality accommodation and food, extensive range of Scottish malt whiskies in the bar and our amazing team make your holiday memorable and most enjoyable.
