My business, Susan Reid Collection, Scotland is a sales and marketing representation company promoting a portfolio of independent, privately owned hotels and castles within Scotland. Having worked in the hotel industry many years and specifically in the sales and marketing roles for 17 years, I was delighted to have the opportunity eight years ago to set up my own business working with privately owned properties and their owners.

It is both a pleasure and a delight to work directly with owners who have a wonderful passion and outlook towards their properties and how they are approaching the market place. This passion is passed onto the team working in such properties who as such take a far greater pride in the level of service and attention to detail they offer. I also feel privately owned hotels and properties need to look closer at their key selling points and the areas in which they thrive and why customers keep coming back. This is very much the way for two of my country house properties whose Chefs are inspired by the excellence and abundance of the local Scottish produce. This produces award winning kitchen teams who create quality and contemporary cuisine. This is a key area which allows privately owned and smaller hotels to stand out from the crowd, especially in the world of chain and group properties.
